Enbridge

Enbridge Inc is a Canadian pipeline corporation headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. It operates a large mainline system for the delivery of crude oil – especially Tar Sands crude – from Canada to the US. Its 2017 acquisition of Houston-based Spectra Energy gave it a larger US presence. Enbridge is also a major player in natural gas transmission in both the US and Canada, and a natural gas distributor in Canada.

Enbridge and/or its affiliates has been involved in major pipeline spills including the 2010 Kalamazoo River spill and the 2007 explosion near Clearbrook, MN, that killed two workers.

Enbridge and/or its affiliates has recently or is currently involved in disputes over the Line 3 replacement and the Line 5/Mackinac Tunnel replacement. Enbridge and/or its affilitiates also has an ownership interest in the highly controversial Dakota Access Pipeline.
